July 4th Fun at Lakewood POA

What a spectacular weekend at Lakewood. The weather gave us all a run for our air conditioners, but that did not stop property owners from coming out and enjoying the beachfront!

Heat indices hit a high of 98 degrees on Friday – the beach was packed with folks looking to cool down and enjoy time with family and friends.

Saturday kicked off with the Annual UTV parade sponsored by Bill and Kelly Collins along with Todd and Lisa Caskey. So much fun was had with this year’s Beach Party theme! There were UTVs decorated with all sorts of creative ideas and even some  UTVs towing floats. A special shout out to our Annual Goat Marshals, Karl and Waylin, entertaining the kids on the floats!

There was a bags tournament, 50/50 raffle, raffle baskets with Lakewood signs and a complete set of bag boards; all donated by our wonderful community members! The big winner of the day was Matt Fitzpatrick who took home not only the bag boards but also the 50/50 raffle cash. The winners of the UTV decorating contest were the Stormoen’s for 1st Place and the Webster’s brought home 2nd Place on their little CF moto. A SPECIAL THANK YOU goes out to Klint and Jen Kosbau for helping coordinate and making the amazing bag boards for give away and Tom Moczynski for donating his time and talent as our Grill Master, the dogs and brats were tasty!

This would not have happened if it wasn’t for the amazing volunteers that organized and kept the picnic and parade going. They were hard at work early Saturday morning hauling grills and tents down to the lake front:-) Thank you again!

The beach was overfilled with joy and laughter as everyone celebrated and enjoyed each others’ company and friendship. It was a perfect weekend and this is what celebrating Lakewood is all about!

Happy 4th of July to all and safe travels throughout your summer. We hope to see you at future events.

Keep your eyes peeled to the website – we hear there is a PIG ROAST coming up – yummy!
